Earlier this month, we compiled statistics on our Hurricane Irma Recovery Fund (HIR Fund). Overall, we were able to provide health care services to 366 patients with 461 visits giving away $78,346.55 in annual exams, primary care, lab tests, and more; $15,000 in forms of birth control; and $10,000 in ultrasound diagnostics totaling $103,346.55!
Of the HIR Fund patients:
31% were out of work,
41% were not working full-time,
22% had unplanned-for evacuation costs,
20% lost their belongings,
38% had damage to their homes,
19% completely lost their home.
